2010 Emmys

Obviously I’m a little late with this, but life calls. There were some interesting choices on the red carpet for this year’s Emmys.  Here’s a look at just a few of the good, the bad, and the ugly…

Just Plain Mad

January Jones may have gotten the color right in this Versace number but it stops there. We’re not really digging the Madonna-esque cone shaped bra or origami like dress.  When I look at this however, a certain dress comes to mind. Anyone recall the black, white and red McQueen dress from the fall/winter ’09 collection??

It’s a Mad Mad World

So on the show, Christina Hendricks always looks beautiful in her clothes. And I’m thinking, a lot of it has to do with the fact that her girls are covered. I’m not saying you have to be ashamed to be a woman, but this Zac Posen dress is doing absolutely nothing for her. It’s making her look way larger than she is. Maybe she just should have shown up as Joan Harris.

All-a-Glow

Claire Danes looked stunning in this Armani Prive gown.  The color and sparkle of the dress made her look like a brilliant starburst.

Military Matador

Anna Paquin’s choice of Alexander McQueen didn’t seem to be too popular with people, but I found it interesting and refreshing. The top reminds me of a matador-strong, sexy, and then it flows into a beautiful sea of black keeping the gown feminine.

Old Hollywood

One of my favorite dresses of the night. Maria Menounos was to die for in this Ralph & Russo gown. I adore the 1920′s feel to it, the color, the scoop in the back (see next picture), and the more than 15,000 hand sewn Swarovski crystals.

Oh Lorelai, Why

Lauren Graham certainly could have picked something better than this crazy Yigal Azrouel ensemble that looks like it was thrown into a machine and put together randomly.  A beautiful and talented woman, there are far better options which could highlight her beauty and I hope to see her in them in the near future.

Gleeful

Glee’s Jayma Mays looked lovely in this dark sapphire blue Burberry Prorsum gown which complimented her hair color terrificly.

Frumpy Dumpy Kate

Siiigh…I mean….What…What do you say here? Why is she even there. And she really couldn’t do better than….why am i surprised…

Golden Girl

Seriously…the woman is a rock star. She can do no wrong, and if you talk badly about her, you’re going straight to hell.

Muy Caliente

Not too many people were crazy about Sofia Vergara in this Carolina Herrera dress but seriously?? This woman is gorgeous and I’m guessing she would look fabulous in a potato sack. Plus, she’s super funny. Oh and get over the line going down the middle…worse things have happened people.

Heidi-ho

This Marchesa dress probably would have been appropriate and flattering on someone else.  Yes Heidi, you are a supermodel but you are getting older, and it’s time to perhaps consider going a few inches longer, no? P.S. the necklace isn’t a good choice either.

Staying Ahead of the Kardashians

This isn’t because I don’t like Kim Kardashian. No, that doesn’t have anything to do with it.  But that whole “gladiator”/cleopatra thing is a little worn out.  At least her caboose is covered up though and she isn’t doing the whole “over the shoulder” pose so it’s the focal point(not in this picture anyway). Look, we know, you have a big ass.
